When you’re looking for the cover star of an issue that celebrates the human body, it makes sense that you’d find a man worthy of having a statue. Cristiano Ronaldo is such a man. In fact, he actually has his own statue—a rather well endowed one.

But, as you may well know, Cristiano Ronaldo is much more than a hard-bodied model. He wears a number of other hats: world-famous soccer star; father to Cristiano Jr.; beautiful woman-wooer; abdominal expert; Trump condo-owner; and underwear entrepreneur/icon, among other prominent roles. And here he is juggling not just a few of those personal interests—his body, underwear, soccer—but also juggling a soccer ball while doing so.

It’s not hard to see why many consider him the greatest soccer player in the world. It’s also not hard to see why we picked him to be on the cover of March’s body issue. As Dan Riley writes in his cover story, about Cristiano: "His torso has so many defined muscles it looks borrowed from the Bodies exhibition, muscles without skin. His legs are smooth and tanned to the hip—a result of yacht holidays and the notorious habit he has of rolling his soccer shorts up at practice like girls on a high school cross-country team." Paired with the beautiful Alessandra Ambrosio, the two turned out a photo shoot that was about as clothes-less and as sexy as you'd probably have expected.

And maybe you’re thinking: those juggling moves aren’t useful in a match, and that outfit doesn’t make any sense for playing soccer. And we’d just say: Loosen up a little, man. Jeez. It’s Cristiano Ronaldo, in his underwear, in a ridiculous Spanish mansion, controlling a soccer ball with his shoulder, head, and thighs better than most of us can with our hands.
