The Craziest Sci-Fi Movie Haircut Has Landed Here On Earth
If imitation is the highest form of flattery, whoever did Gary Oldman's hair for The Fifth Element should feel really good about themselves right now.
Dave Navarro, the onetime Jane's Addiction and Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist and now filmmaker, sported a 'do that was uncannily similar to Oldman's look from the 1997 film at a talk in New York last night.
Navarro has been sporting an undercut for a few years now, but he generally slicks the hair on the top of his head straight back, leaving the shorn sides exposed. Combing it all to the left, the way he did last night, is more Skrillex got a mall haircut then actually stylish. It was a tonsorial risk, to be sure. But without men who are brave enough to get do new things to their hair, we'd all probably have really boring Bruce-Willis-as-Korben-Dallas crew cuts. And where's the fun in that?
