While the rest of the world has fully descended into man bun madness, we've always looked upon the tonsorial flourish with a bit of skepticism because, well, it seemed like one of those passing fads that could be seen as downright ridiculous with just a little bit of hindsight. And while the official jury is still out on the hairstyle's endurance and lasting influence, one thing we couldn't have guessed is that the 'do would be used to capture unsuspecting (and trendy!) criminals.

According to the AP a suspect was brought in for a string of car vandalizations in a Pittsburgh neighborhood, thanks to his recognizable hairdo. See, some damning surveillance footage showed a local rabble-rouser with a top knot of hair kicking at the sides of car doors and jumping on their side-view mirrors on the city's South Side. And thanks to this distinguishing features, neighbors were able to ID the culprit as 22-year-old Isaac Gettleman — who now finds himself charged with 36 counts of criminal mischief and is due in court on January 18th.

Per the AP: "Gettleman lives in the same neighborhood, which led fellow resident Erin Catalina to wonder, 'What motivates someone to do that, I have no idea.' She was referring to the vandalism, not Gettleman's hair style." Which, LOL to that last zinger.

So, yeah, yet another reason that a man bun might not be worth the trouble.
