Cameron Dallas Shaved His Head
Cameron Dallas might not be a household name just yet, but anyone who lives in Internet, USA (population: everyone under the age of 25), will probably know who he is. Dallas made a name for himself as a prankster on Vine and is now famous on all the other platforms, and in real-life too (Vine had a decidedly less happy ending). You can think of Dallas like Gen Z's Ashton Kutcher; he radiates "most popular guy in school" energy and is known for his really, really good hair. Was known for his really, really good hair. Two days ago he joined the leagues of other guys his age and shaved all that painstakingly highlighted hair right off.
Here is Dallas's 7-minute video chronicling the experience for our viewing pleasure (he is shirtless, naturally). Shaving your head actually doesn't take very much time so Dallas and his sister and mother, who helped him do the deed, added some extra content to fill the gaps. The video starts off with Dallas wearing a variety of hats, for instance, and ends with he and his sister making fake eyebrows out of her brother's discarded hair. There's also a lengthy straight-to-camera burp. We'll let you discover for yourself who was responsible for that choice comedic moment.
According to Dallas, he shaved his head because he wanted a fresh start. "By the way guys I just turned 23," he explained in the video. "We are dedicating this year to new beginnings, self improvement, so we're just getting rid of the old me, and going for the new me." Later in the video he adds, "I feel like back in the day this would have been too big of a change for me but now that I'm so much more open and so much more mature, I just don't care."
This just goes to show that, even in the age of YouTube fame, the buzz-cut is still a tool for reinvention and a way of telling the world you're a rebel in charge of his own destiny. It's also a way to ensure you look dope—and just a little bit scary—in fall jackets. For a guy like Cameron Dallas, these are all important things.
