The Week in Excellent Celebrity Haircuts
Welcome to another edition of Grooming Gods; a weekly recap of the best celebrity haircuts, beards, and other grooming adventures, courtesy of our favorite stylish gentlemen across the globe. This week we saw a lot of guys use bold color and well-groomed beards to give basic haircuts a little something special. We're feeling their experiments.
You Do You of the Week:Cristiano Ronaldo's 'N Sync Curls
Two famous celebrity haircuts converged recently when Cristiano Ronaldo ditched his famous fade for Justin Timberlake's circa-NSYNC frosted tips. While highlighted wet curls and diamond earrings on guys should probably stay in the '00s, a mega-rich Portuguese soccer player like Ronaldo is one of few who can pull it off.
Jason Bateman's Blackout
Jason Bateman took his grooming game to the dark side this week with a hair color a shade or two deeper than his normal brown tone. We're betting it's for a role, but we think the almost-black look really suits him. Particularly when he's dressed in an equally sharp, equally dark suit.
Idris Elba's Bedroom-Friendly Beard
Pardon the extreme closeup here, but we just couldn't resist filling up the majority of this space with Idris Elba's excellent salt-and-pepper beard. These aren't the sharpest lines we've ever seen, but what the 45-year-old actor lacks in precision he makes up for in length and texture. That is, he's got just enough of both.
Adam Levine's White-Hot Fade
Did Adam Levine want to be photographed in this moment? Maybe not. Did Adam Levine's hair want to be photographed in this moment? [Cue face-melting guitar solo]. The frontman is following in the footsteps of Billy Idol, C.C. DeVille, Bret Michaels and countless other '80s-era rockers with this bottle blonde 'do. We could take or leave the dad plaid, but this is excellent, stage-worthy hair.
Joel Edgerton's Grooming Man's Grooming
If Joel Edgerton's career as an actor doesn't work out, he could definitely segue into a job as the spokesperson for an old-timey barbershop. His patch-free, perfectly groomed beard, and precise-but-not-severe fade is the definition of grooming goals, especially to the sort of guy who lathers up with a badger brush every time he shaves.
Owen Teague's Rebellious Red
Here's what we know about Owen Teague: He's 19. He's from Tampa, Florida. His was in the movie It. And, up until recently, he had jet black hair. Now he's rocking the auburn red color we've seen a lot of young actors embrace recently, and it looks pretty great on him. If we were a 19-year-old actor making a name in creepy movies, and could pull off a sincere half-smile, we would probably dye our hair red too.
