Platinum-blond hair was crazy popular last year, when everyone from Lucky Blue Smith to Bieber to, well, this writer opted for bleached-out locks. It's a trend that seems to be in the second half of its life cycle in 2016, something that didn't stop Miles Teller from showing up to the ESPYs with a mane of freshly bleached follicles.

As you can see, the results are...questionable. There's an orange undertone to Teller's hair that is less strawberry blond and more of a light Cheeto blond. And that's because going from black to blond, even over two or three processes, is a difficult task. (I have brown hair, and my own bleaching process had to be done four times and toned to remove any underlying banana yellow hues.)

There's a good chance Teller dyed his hair this way for a role, considering he also went for the eyebrows, which most people don't do for their everyday life. (Probably because it makes you go from swervy to straight-up insane-looking.) In that case, we kind of just feel bad that he had to show up to a televised event looking not his best self. We know Teller can look great on a red carpet—but this just goes to show that no look is truly complete without the right grooming.
