Hey Guys, Maybe Don't Schedule Six Dates in One Night
You're watching your favorite sitcom (it honestly doesn't matter which one, this will still apply) when one of the main characters finds themselves in a bit of a pickle. They've scheduled two dates on the same night! Oh no! What will they do? Now sometimes this scheduling snafu is an honest mistake. Sometimes it's the arrogant hubris of a self-proclaimed ladykiller. And sometimes it's just what happens because TV writers are people too, and sometimes you're stuck on a story late at night and you want to see your family, so you just do that thing that every show has done.
But regardless of reason, this trope is always a cautionary tale. Never has anyone watched one of these episodes and thought to themselves: "That looks like fun. I should do that." Or at least, I thought nobody had ever thought that until last night. You see, last night a Twitter user named Lisette Pyland told the story of a date gone wrong when it became clear that the man she was meeting had scheduled not one, not two, but three dates back-to-back at the same bar. (Note: As with all Twitter thread stories, there's always the chance that this is a great work of fiction, but it definitely rings true, so I'm going to choose to believe it happened.)
