From recent buzz-cut converts like Adam Levine, Matthew McConaughey, and Shia LaBeouf to guys like Kanye West, who almost always keep it short, there are plenty of stylish folks making basically no hair look damn sharp right now. And frankly, we welcome any break from man buns and comb overs, which are almost too popular for their own good. Summer is sort of an obvious time to take the plunge and shave your head, so why not take it all off this winter instead? With all the beanies on shelves this season, the fashion gods are basically begging you to do it. Here, five signs this one-and-done haircut might be right for you.

You’re feeling a bit punk. Not having any hair is like saying “no comment” to all the people trying to size you up and put you in a box. It’s way more rebellious than any leather jacket or pair of ripped jeans in your closet.
You have a perfectly shaped head.Chances are, you’re relatively aware of whether your skull, scalp, and eyebrows can hang. This is something to consider before you shave it all off. That said, don’t overthink every tiny scar or cowlick.

You are committed to your workout goals. If you shower once or even twice a day because you’re hitting the gym on the regular, a shaved head can save you a whole bunch of time and effort. Plus, it looks great with those muscles you’ve been working on.
You need a clean slate.Whether you just got out of a relationship or just need to stop being known as man-bun guy, sometimes shaving your head can help you turn the page on a chapter in your life that needs to end. That said, do not impulse-shave your head the second something intense happens—that will just make you look insane.

You’re losing your hair.Owning it—whether that “it” is your job, your health, or the fact that you’re losing your hair—is the definition of attractive. Plus, wouldn’t it be nice not to worry about it so much? You’ve got more important things to focus on—like whether or not using Uber makes you a bad person.
