It’s a bad day for love in Justin Timberlake’s new "TKO" video, but a great day for hair. Despite getting his ass beat and dragged through the desert, Timberlake upped the ante on his straightened locks with a tapered pompadour. Hairstylist Jordan Blackmore of Three Squares Studio in New York City answered the questions you were probably already thinking:

So, how’d it get so straight?

Timberlake likely chemically straightened his curly hair, says Blackmore. "Relars take about 30 minutes—some guys do it at home, but you can get it done at the salon for around $100." (Warning: Chemicals can be harsh, so tread lightly if you have thin hair.)

What do I tell my barber?

"It’s a modified Elvis cut," says Blackmore. Taper hair from about a half-inch above the ear down with clippers set to a one or two, and leave an inch of length everywhere else, with two inches in front.

How do I style it?

"Once you get out of the shower, towel dry hair and apply a nickel-sized amount of Oribe Creme for Style, running fingers through your hair," says Blackmore. Blow dry the front of hair back and the sides down, then mix dime-sized amounts of Murray’s Pomade with Oribe Rock Hard Gel and apply throughout hair, shaping it as you go.
