In order to get a better understanding of the nation's vast facial hair landscape, we asked our pool of experts—the same folks that gave us The Most Requested Haircut in America—to report how many of their clients sport beards and mustaches. To say the results were enlightening would be an understatement. Here they are, in one handy infographic.

Also of note: only four states claim to have more mustachioed than bearded men. They are North Carolina, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. While we can’t say for sure what’s going on with those first two, that last pair definitely makes sense. The Pacific Northwest always did have a thing for artisanal mustache wax.
