Pretty any guy with your classic short-on-the-sides-long-on-top 'do can use a comb and carve out a part in their hair. It's the quickest way to looking respectable, even if you aren't.

Bieber's been letting his hair grow out a bit, and though he's never been one to overly style his 'do, he's making an especially strong case for just letting well enough alone. So consider it, ye of short hair — forgo that dollop of product next time you step out of the house.

Nothing makes you look slicker than, well, a well-oiled slicked-back thatch of hair. Hawke, in recent days, has embraced more of a rag-tag Brooklyn dad look, but he still knows how to turn out for the red carpet. This is the opposite of Bieber's above unkempt look — there's definitely some product and forethought, and, lucky for him and us, it looks great.

Hey, while it's certainly not for everyone, we have to tip our hat to Mel's ... uh ... dedication. We're not sure if it's meant to deter or draw attention, but somehow it does both, simultaneously. And while it may not conform to our idealized beard standards, we'd be lying if we didn't say we have serious respect for that thing, and the swagger with which Gibson wears it.

Not everyone can pull off the whole bleached hair/beard look — Odell Beckahm Jr. comes to mind — but Penn Badgley of Gossip Girl certainly makes it work. His trick is to leave it pretty raw, let the roots grow out, and give it a minimal amount of polish. Looking rough around the edges keeps the DGAF spirit in tact. Will it work on everyone? Definitely not. We suggest asking your closest friend who will be real with you or a professional hair person before making the commitment.
