Rafael Nadal Is Not Having This Whole 'Wearing Clothes' Thing
It's time to tell the truth about Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal. Rafael Nadal is openly anti-clothes.
Despite his affiliations with a number of menswear brands, the evidence has been mounting for years. Notice, for example, how Rafael Nadal keeps no shirt on any longer than he has to during matches; how Rafael Nadal won't even discuss wearing a shirt at practice. Will he maybe wear a shirt with his jeans? Nope. He sometimes holds anti-clothing demonstrations outdoors while he's on vacation. He will only wear a shirt for half of a Shakira video. And obviously he will not be in a cologne ad unless he can at least partially disrobe for that, too.
It should surprise no one, then, that when Nadal, the new face (read: abs) of Tommy Hilfiger, played tennis at a Tommy Hilfiger event ahead of next week's U.S. Open in New York, he started out fully clothed—but promptly proceeded to remove his shirt, tie, and pocket square during play.
To be fair, the Tommy Hilfiger tennis event was billed as "strip tennis." Judging by the recent, highly visible proliferation of Nadal-Hilfiger nudity propaganda efforts, it seems Rafael Nadal has finally been matched with the anti-clothing clothier to suit his needs.
