The Donald Trump world tour continues this afternoon, as the president and his merry band of silently miserable hangers-on arrived Rome today for this week's highly-anticipated meeting with His Holiness and noted Trump shade expert Pope Francis at the Vatican.
And for the second time in as many days, on perhaps the biggest stage imaginable, the First Lady of the United States made it perfectly and painfully clear to the world that she is entirely uninterested in enduring physical contact with her husband, thank you very much.

The president seamlessly transitioned to the gentle, tentative back pat with the practiced ease of a man who has known the sting of public rejection before, but there was no hiding what transpired first: at the precise moment Donald Trump reaches hopefully for her hand, Melania deftly escapes his clutches with the practiced ease of a woman who has already made such dodges into an art form, cleverly raising her hand to adjust her sunglasses and not letting it return to her side until she could be sure that his thirsty paws were firmly out of the range from which he could re-launch his attempt.
