Harry Styles will not give the people what they want. His first haircut in some two years was announced on Friday via a disembodied ponytail and since then…nothing. One Internet hoax filled the void, of course, but Styles has been radio silent on the matter for days. Until this morning, when the paparazzi caught up with him in London wearing a Greek fisherman style hat (#powermove)—The Sun has the exclusive photos.

So, here's what we know: Styles did not shave his head or get a pretty-boy fade, like that imposter would have us believe. And we know the cut has some serious Pete Doherty vibes. Judging from the snaps, it looks more like a drunken dare than a carefully plotted-out way to brand Styles as a grown-up solo artist. And because we still believe in rock ‘n’ roll, we’re going to go with the first theory. That or Styles just was sick of pulling stray hairs out of his mouth.
