The Best Grooming Moments at the 2017 Oscars
When it comes to the Oscars red carpet, what the male nominees and presenters wear—especially when they take a politicized turn—usually overshadows the grooming moves they made to get ready. But, as we've seen so many times, those grooming moves play an integral supporting role that can make or break a winning look. And from Casey Affleck's wildman beard to Justin Timberlake's fresh cut, there was lots to talk about. Here's a few of our favorite looks from the 2017 Oscars...

We've long been interested in Justin's hair evolution, and the latest step—a riff on the military classic the hight and tight—is undoubtably sharp. Here's how to ask for it next time you visit your barber.

A lot of guys can veer into overly-trimmed territory with their facial hair, but this is the perfect balance between maintained and manicured. The slicked side part is on point, too.
Best Gray: Jeff BridgesHOLLYWOOD, CA - FEBRUARY 26: Actor Jeff Bridges attends the 89th Annual Academy Awards at Hollywood & Highland Center on February 26, 2017 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/Getty Images)Kevin Mazur
Stressed about going gray? No need. Jeff Bridges shows you how badass it can look.
Best Stubble: Ryan GoslingHOLLYWOOD, CA - FEBRUARY 26: Actor Ryan Gosling attends the 89th Annual Academy Awards at Hollywood & Highland Center on February 26, 2017 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by George Pimentel/FilmMagic)George Pimentel
Gosling's day or two of growth looks like a debonair stylistic gesture, a nice accompaniment to his suave hairdo.

In an era of the glossy, product-laden hairstyle, it's nice to see a look that has shape and structure but doesn't appear to be overly done.

If there's one guy killing the whole unkempt look, it's undeniably Dev.

John deserves a damn award for his consistency—he never disappoints on the red carpet, or even just while walking the dog.

We all know that if your hair and beard are the same length, you risk looking like a tennis ball. While most guys go for the longer hair/trimmed beard combo, Dornan mixes it up with a shaved head and bushier beard, a welcome way to add a little spice to your grooming routine.

We're always hoping that the next time we see Casey, he'll have shaved the beard and gotten a cut—finally making the long-awaited transformation from vagabond to Hollywood movie star. Looks like we'll have to keep waiting. However, we're nonetheless impressed with his dedication to the scumbag look.
