We're just going to rip off the Band-Aid on this one: Robert Pattinson got a perm last night. According to the paparazzi (admittedly not the most reliable source of information), it was a long and painful hair death, taking upwards of four hours to ruin the golden ratio-level perfection that was Pattinson’s long, wavy locks. He did it for a movie role, of course, and was joined by one of the directors of the film, Josh Safdie, who was there for moral support. Or you know, to slowly rub his hands together and grin.

Best case scenario Pattinson looks like fellow Brit Kit Harington. Worst case he looks like Bradley Cooper in American Hustle. Or a human Labradoodle. And let us not forget, this is hardly the first time Pattinson has sacrificed his enviable locks for a role. While we wait for the first shots of his new ramen-ed out hair to hit the wires, we invite you to stare longingly at the epic mane that once was.
