Try This New (Subtler) Way to Wear Cologne

Grooming products that help you tame your scruff have exploded over the last couple of years, with beard oils from small brands like Beardbrand and Port Products leading the pack. Now fragrance brands are getting in on the action, too, offering up scruff-centric oils infused with your favorite scents. Tom Ford—a designer famous for his well-groomed beard—was among the first to offer up a fragranced beard oil, all the way back in the olden days of 2014. Last year a slew of luxury labels, including Burberry and Cartier, followed suit as part of their newest men's fragrance launches, as did Acqua di Parma, an OG European fragrance brand.

While we wouldn't advise splashing or spraying liquid cologne in your beard or scruff, this magical oil has a totally different effect. It imparts a much subtler fragrance, for one, and it serves the added purpose of taking care of your unruly, scraggly facial hair, for another. If you're only borderline a cologne guy and you happen to be sporting some facial hair these days, we'd recommend ditching your spray bottle and moving over to an oil instead. Bonus: You'll spend about half as much money on oil versus real-deal cologne, and unlike with perfumed shower gel, you won't blast through the whole bottle in a week and a half.
